John Wayne Airport Posts August 2026 Statistics

(SANTA ANA, CA) - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport decreased in August 2026 as compared to August 2025. In August 2026, the Airport served 991,015 passengers, a decrease of 4.2% when compared with the August 2025 passenger traffic count of 1,034,529.

Commercial aircraft operations in August 2026 of 8,168 increased 0.3%, and commuter aircraft operations of 835 increased 12.2% when compared with 2025 levels. 

Total aircraft operations decreased in August 2026 as compared with the same month in 2025. In August 2026, there were 26,233 total aircraft operations (takeoffs and landings), an 8.5% decrease compared to 28,670 total aircraft operations in August 2025.

General aviation activity of 17,222 accounted for 66.0% of the total aircraft operations during August 2026 and decreased 12.9% compared with August 2025.

The top three airlines in August 2026, based on passenger count, were Southwest Airlines (267,105), United Airlines (168,697), and American Airlines (164,639).
