John Wayne Airport Posts May 2026 Statistics

(SANTA ANA, CA) - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport decreased in May 2026 compared to May 2025. In May 2026, the Airport served 953,260 passengers, a decrease of 2.8% when compared with the May 2025 passenger traffic count of 980,663.

Commercial aircraft operations in May 2026 of 8,052 decreased 1.6% and commuter aircraft operations of 699 decreased 0.9% when compared with 2025 levels. 

Total aircraft operations decreased in May 2026 as compared with the same month in 2025. In May 2026, there were 26,870 total aircraft operations (takeoffs and landings), an 11.8% decrease compared to 30,464 total aircraft operations in May 2025.

General aviation activity of 18,115 accounted for 67.4% of the total aircraft operations during May 2026 and decreased 15.9% compared with May 2025.

The top three airlines in May 2026 based on passenger count were Southwest Airlines (258,209), American Airlines (168,264), and United Airlines (156,215).
