John Wayne Airport Posts May 2025 Statistics

(SANTA ANA, CA) - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in May 2025 as compared to May 2024. In May 2025, the Airport served 980,663 passengers, an increase of 3.1% when compared with the May 2024 passenger traffic count of 950,740.

Commercial aircraft operations in May 2025 of 8,187 increased 4.1% and commuter aircraft operations of 705 increased 67.9% when comparing with 2024 levels. 

Total aircraft operations increased in May 2025 as compared with the same month in 2024. In May 2025, there were 30,464 total aircraft operations (takeoffs and landings) a 21.6% increase compared to 25,061 total aircraft operations in May 2024.

General aviation activity of 21,530 accounted for 70.7% of the total aircraft operations during May 2025, and increased 28.7% compared with May 2024.

The top three airlines in May 2025 based on passenger count were Southwest Airlines (267,982), American Airlines (169,152), and United Airlines (156,342).
