John Wayne Airport Posts July 2017 Statistics

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in July 2017 as compared with July 2016.  In July 2017, the Airport served 919,223 passengers, an increase of 1.7% when compared with the July 2016 passenger traffic count of 903,955. 

Commercial aircraft operations decreased 0.9% and commuter aircraft operations decreased 60.8% when compared with July 2016 levels.

Total aircraft operations increased in July 2017 as compared with the same month in 2016.  In July 2017, there were 25,660 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a 1.6% increase compared to 25,255 total aircraft operations in July 2016.

General aviation activity, which accounted for 69.4% of the total aircraft operations during July 2017, increased 3.2% when compared with July 2016.

The top three airlines in July 2017 based on passenger count were Southwest Airlines (344,049), American Airlines (160,992) and United Airlines (142,861).
