John Wayne Airport Posts October 2016 Statistics

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in October 2016 as compared with October 2015. In October 2016, the Airport served 918,116 passengers, an increase of 3.0% when compared with the October 2015 passenger traffic count of 891,073.

In October 2016, commercial aircraft operations increased 10.2% and commuter aircraft operations decreased 72.9% when compared with October 2015 levels.

Total aircraft operations increased in October 2016 as compared with the same month in 2015. In October 2016, there were 23,128 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a 1.1% increase compared to 22,874 total aircraft operations in October 2015.

General aviation activity, which accounted for 65.4% of the total aircraft operations during October 2016, decreased 1.9% when compared with October 2015.

The top three airlines in October 2016 based on passenger count were Southwest Airlines (415,561), American Airlines (142,838) and United Airlines (120,416).
