Plein Air Paintings Depicting Scenes of Orange County on Display at John Wayne Airport

SANTA ANA, Calif. - From June 16 through July 14, a series of oil paintings by Orange County artist Maryana Wagor are on display at John Wayne Airport (JWA) as part of JWA's Community Focus Space Program. The paintings can be viewed on the Departure (upper) Level near security screening areas in Terminals A, B and C, and on the Arrival (lower) Level adjacent to Baggage Carousels 1 and 4.

"Maryana Wagor's paintings reflect a landscape that changes with the light, depicting beautiful scenes of the place we call home," said Board Chairwoman Lisa Bartlett.  "The County is fortunate to have a world-class airport with an Arts Program that highlights the many talented artists within our community."

The exhibition includes studio works and plein air art pieces created outdoors in various Orange County locations. Painted at different times of the day, the images capture with paint on canvas the feeling of a particular moment in time.

A resident of San Clemente, Maryana Wagor has lived in Orange County for 37 years. Ms. Wagor studied painting, drawing and ceramics at the UCLA Otis Art Institute and Laguna College of Art and Design. She is a member of Oil Painters of America, Laguna Beach Plein-air Painters, San Clemente Art Association and Impressionists Society of America.

Upcoming Community Focus Space Program artists include Richard Pradenas (July 14 - August 16) and Ruth Yuhas (August 16 - September 15).
