John Wayne Airport Posts February 2016 Statistics

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in February 2016 as compared with February 2015.  In February 2016, the Airport served 793,553 passengers, an increase of 11.9% when compared with the February 2015 passenger traffic count of 708,940. 

Commercial aircraft operations increased 17.4% and commuter aircraft operations decreased 47.6% when compared with February 2015 levels.

Total aircraft operations increased in February 2016 as compared with the same month in 2015.  In February 2016, there were 22,152 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a 12.9% increase compared to 19,628 total aircraft operations in February 2015.

General aviation activity, which accounted for 68.6% of the total aircraft operations during February 2016, increased 12.6% when compared with February 2015.

The top three airlines in February 2016 based on passenger count were Southwest Airlines (388,548), American Airlines (116,308) and United Airlines (94,886).
