Business Opportunities at John Wayne Airport

John Wayne Airport (JWA) serves millions of travelers each year and offers a variety of business opportunities. New opportunities are regularly available, so we’re reaching out to the community with steps for you to consider on how to do business with JWA.

Contract Opportunities

The Airport is owned and operated by the County of Orange and utilizes the County’s online bid management system, OPENGOV. Information on JWA bid solicitations, RFPs, and RFQs can be found on the Airport’s Contract Opportunities webpage. JWA and County bid opportunities may also be available on the County Procurement website. For Airport-specific bids, search for “John Wayne Airport”.

To do business with JWA, a company must register as a vendor with OPENGOV. By registering, you will be notified when opportunities of company interest become available. As a registered user, you will also have access to respond to bids electronically. There is no cost to register.

Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program and Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) Program

JWA strongly encourages the participation of disadvantaged businesses through the federal DBE Program and ACDBE Program. The DBE Program is applicable to federally-funded Airport projects, which are contracted by Orange County Public Works. The ACDBE Program is applicable to the Airport’s concessions program. Please see the FAA, Caltrans, and JWA websites for more information on the DBE and ACDBE programs.

Firms that meet the certification standards can apply for certification with a DBE or ACDBE certifying agency in California. Please note it can take up to 90 days per federal regulations to receive a decision from a certifying agency if all the required information is provided. However, this process can take significantly longer depending on any follow-up information required from the certifying agency. Please see the Caltrans DBE Certification webpage and the California Unified Certification Program’s Roster of DBE and ACDBE Certifying Agencies for more information.
