John Wayne Airport makes family travel easy! We understand the unique challenges facing traveling families. The Airport offers several family friendly amenities to make your travel more enjoyable, including a TSA Family Lane at Security Screening, Nursing Mother’s Lounge, Children’s Play Area, and Universal Changing Table.
Designated Family Lane
The TSA checkpoint in Terminal B has a designated Family Lane specially designed to support families traveling with young children. From formula and snacks to strollers and car seats, the Family Lane streamlines the security screening process to help make your journey as easy and stress-free as possible. Look for the sign indicating the Family Lane.
Children’s Play Area
Let the kids work out the wiggles before getting on your flight. Inspired by the beauty of Orange County, the Children’s Play Area features interactive elements that reflect the region’s coastal charm, including a lifeguard tower, sea lion, sandcastle, and surfboard specially designed with “soft play” material. The space, conveniently located post-security next to the Nursing Mother’s Lounge (near Gate 11), promotes imagination, sensory play, and socializing while offering a safe and welcoming environment for families.
Nursing Mother’s Lounge
John Wayne Airport offers traveling mothers a Nursing Mother’s Lounge as a quiet private space to pump or nurse their babies. The lounge is located in Terminal B between Gates 11 and 12, near the Children’s Play Area, and features comfortable seating, a sink, a changing table, and adjustable lighting.
Universal Changing Table
Located in our newly renovated Terminal B Family Restroom, near the Nursing Mother’s Lounge and Children’s Play Area, the Universal Changing table allows caregivers to provide assistance safely, conveniently, and comfortably. From baby to adult-sized stations, the Universal Changing table delivers dignity and real accessibility for all. John Wayne Airport is committed to inclusivity and accessibility for all guests traveling through our Airport.
