COVID-19 Rapid Testing Available

COVID-19 Rapid Testing is available through Hoag at JWA in Terminal B on the Departure Level before the TSA Security Checkpoint. Testing is open to travelers as well as community members, with results available within 15-30 minutes. Some airlines and travel destinations require a PCR test from an approved partner. Be sure to verify that the Hoag COVID-19 Rapid Test qualifies. Cost per test is $139.

  • Am I required to wear a face covering in the Airport?
    The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) requires face masks be worn by all travelers while on public transportation, including airports and aircraft. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) also requires travelers to wear face masks when they are in airports and on aircraft. All passengers over the age of 2 are required to wear a mask throughout the screening process. The Travel Document Checker (TDC) at the screening checkpoint will request that travelers temporarily lower the mask to verify their identity. Those who approach the TDC without a mask will be asked to wear or obtain one to proceed. Passengers who refuse to wear a mask will not be permitted to enter the secure area of the Airport, which includes the Terminal and gate area.   • What measures are in place at the Airport to protect travelers?
    Increased deep cleaning and disinfecting of high traffic/touchpoint areas, restrooms, and concessions. Healthy travels and physical distancing signage are installed throughout the Terminal, including queuing, dining, and gate seating areas.
  • Will my temperature be taken at the Airport?
    Temperature-taking is not required to enter the Terminal at John Wayne Airport. Airlines servicing the Airport have procedures in place to enhance the health and safety of passengers and employees.   • What is the TSA doing at security checkpoints to protect travelers?
    The TSA has increased deep cleaning and disinfecting of screening checkpoint surfaces every three hours in addition to nightly cleaning. Passengers over age 2 are required to wear a face covering during the TSA screening process, but a TSA officer will ask that it be adjusted to visually confirm identity. TSA has also implemented procedures to increase physical distancing and reduce direct contact between TSA employees and the traveling public, including the installation of protective shields.   • Can I fly if I have a cold?
    Check with your doctor to evaluate your health before your scheduled departure. Some airlines check for visibly sick passengers in gate seating areas and before boarding and may not allow you to enter the aircraft. Visit the CDC here for more information.
  • Can I bring hand sanitizer through security?
    TSA allows one liquid hand sanitizer container up to 12 ounces per passenger in carry-on bags until further notice. Pre-moistened wipes are also allowed in carry-on bags without size restrictions or packing requirements. Visit TSA Coronavirus Information to learn more.
  • If I fly into or out of John Wayne Airport, will I have to be quarantined?

  • What can I do to keep myself and others healthy while traveling through John Wayne Airport?
    Protect yourself and others by washing your hands (for at least 20 seconds) as you travel through the Terminal, and before and after security screening. Learn more about hand hygiene on the CDC website. Remember to keep at least 6 feet distance between yourself and others, stay home if you are sick, and wear a face covering. Current Impacts at John Wayne Airport

  • Airline Club Lounge: The United Airlines United Club is temporarily closed until further notice.
  • Parking: Valet Parking and the Main Street Parking lot are temporarily closed until further notice. All Terminal self-parking structures remain open.
