JWAlive – Live music at JWA

JWAlive is the John Wayne Airport music performance program intended to enhance the guest experience at the Airport. Live music performances are accessible to ticketed passengers only, and are made possible by John Wayne Airport and QSC. We hope you will be able to enjoy one of the performances when visiting our Terminal!

Musicians who are interested in performing in the Terminal may contact Mark Wood Entertainment at 949-748-6850 or email info@markwoodentertainment.com.

Play Me! Piano

Modeled after the “Play Me, I'm Yours” street piano, the JWA “Play Me!” Piano program provides access to a beautiful instrument, an opportunity to play for a live audience or to enjoy the musical talents of others. Airport guests are invited to sit down and play the Avant Grand piano located post-security on the upper level between Terminals A and B.

If you’re traveling through the Airport, take a moment to sit down and share your piano talent and be sure to post JWAlive musical performances on social media using the hashtags #FlyJWA and #PlayMeJWAPiano. Follow JWA on Instagram and Twitter (@johwnwayneair) or Facebook (@johnwayneairport) to view clips of JWAlive performances.

Mark began playing music at the age of 8, singing in church choirs, studying the saxophone and several woodwind instruments. By age 14, he picked up the guitar and taught himself bass and piano along the way. Mark is a Southern CA native and has a wonderful repertoire with songs that span every era of rock and pop, from the 50s to today’s current hits. He has performed locally and in venues throughout the world as well as composed music for film and television.

As a songwriter, he crafts songs that bring a touch of his old Liverpool heritage, along with an edge that can be sharp as a knife, yet subtle as a warm evening breeze. His cover material encompasses most areas of popular music, with songs by such artists as the Beatles, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Neil Finn & Crowded House and many more!
  • Mark Wood
Mark began playing music professionally in 1968 at the age of 11. With over 50 years in the music industry, Mark has built a repertoire of more than 2,500 songs by more than 325 artists. Whether he’s performing on piano and vocal, guitar and vocal, or adding the harmonica to a favorite tune, you will be amazed!
  • Katelyn Marie
Born with a natural ear and love for music, Katelynn grew up in a household surrounded by classic rock and poetic lyrics by the likes of Tom Petty. As a teen, Katelyn Marie was drawn to country music, finding inspiration from The Dixie Chicks, Garth Brooks and Johnny Cash. Katelyn Marie’s vocal strengths have most often been compared with the two-time Grammy Award-winning Colbie Caillat, but with her own unique style, sass and versatile range.
  • Kelly Fitzgerald
Kelly is known for her soulful style, which is a blend of folk, blues and classic rock. Influenced by Billie Holiday, Ricky Lee Jones and Led Zeppelin, Kelly's voice has been likened to Bonnie Raitt, with a contemporary comparison to Melissa Etheridge and Sheryl Crow. The result is music that is smooth and gritty, honest and moving ... a truly incredible Classic Rock artist.
  • Jim Quealy
Jim Quealy is a singer songwriter who grew up on Long Island and started writing songs and playing local bars in 1971. Jim is a long time local favorite, performing solo guitar and piano at Captain Jack’s (Sunset Beach) where he enjoys playing audience requests from every musical genre.
  • Matthew Jordan
With edgy synthesizer grooves a la CHVRCHES, soaring piano pop hooks from the playbook of Andrew McMahon and Sara Bareilles, and contemplative lyrics that would be at home in the works of Jackson Browne, Matthew Jordan has crafted a unique style all his own. In addition to his own music, Matthew Jordan frequently works with other artists and singers as a music director, keyboard player, and producer.

His father was a pianist and conductor of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, his brother is a Grammy-nominated classical percussionist and his sister an accomplished rock/soul singer. At age 10, he took an interest in the piano and within six months Dave had mastered the C Sonata by Mozart and began an obsession with Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock and DEVO. Dave has performed with the Goo Goo Dolls as keyboardist/vocalist during their “Dizzy Up the Girl” tour.
  • Lacey Marie Heston
Lacey Marie Heston is no stranger to the stage. Having grown up as a sixth generation musician, she naturally began performing on stage at the young age of two.
