John Wayne Airport Honored by OCPRSA, ACI-NA and AIGA
In September, the Orange County chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (OCPRSA) recognized John Wayne Airport (JWA) with Awards of Excellence for the launch of our first edition trading card and for an article written for Airport Business Magazine about the Transportation Network Company permitting process. The trading card launch took place during the 2015 National Travel and Tourism Week and involved coordination with other airports to distribute trading cards to specific flights on their departure and arrival. The Airport Business Magazine article authored by Scott Hagen, JWA’s Deputy Airport Director, Operations, described the unique policy and process that led to the Board of Supervisor’s authorization of ride-sharing companies to operate at the Airport.
This past November, JWA received an Honorable Mention from Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) for its interactive 2013 Annual Report titled “Impressive from All Angles.” The report focused on recent JWA accomplishments in the areas of high quality air service, safety/security, comfort/convenience and financial strength – and how these achievements positively affect the Orange County community, economy, destinations and partners. JWA also received the highest honor from the Orange County chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) for our interactive 2014 Annual Report.
