This section provides information on programs and services the Airport offers to the Orange County community.
Access & Noise
The Access & Noise webpage includes information about the Access Plan and Settlement Agreement. In order to monitor and enforce the Settlement Agreement restrictions, the Access and Noise Office utilizes a state-of-the-art noise monitoring system to track each air carrier and general aviation operations. JWA’s flight tracking system, VOLANS, enables members of the community to log on and track flight data. Viewpoint, a new user-friendly platform for submitting noise events, has been integrated with the Airport Noise and Operations Management System to improve consistency and efficiency of data collection.
Environmental Policy & Practice
John Wayne Airport (JWA) is committed to upholding best practices in environmental responsibility and has been an industry leader in implementing policies that provide both sustainability and cost effectiveness. Read more about environmental policies and practices adopted by JWA.
Airport Arts Program
The Airport Arts Program presents museum quality exhibitions in the Terminal,
provides periodic special programs in conjunction with the exhibitions
and sponsors a county-wide Annual Student Art Contest/Exhibition.
The Volunteer Program at JWA enhances the guest experience in two ways. Airport Ambassadors are volunteers trained in customer service to assist passengers as they navigate through the Thomas F. Riley Terminal, and answer questions they have about Airport amenities and services. Information they provide includes directions to particular airlines, gates, restaurants, restrooms, water refill stations, and rental car counters. Airport Tour Guides are volunteers trained to provide group tours of the Riley Terminal. They are experts in JWA history, features and Airport amenities, and they are happy to tell you all about OC’s only commercial passenger service airport. For more information about the Volunteer Program and becoming a JWA volunteer, click here.
JWA offers guided group tours of the Thomas F. Riley Terminal, free of charge to the public. Arrange to meet an Airport Tour Guide at our iconic statue of John Wayne and learn all about Airport history, Terminal architecture, features and amenities, just to name a few.
