Art Exhibits

 

The Airport Arts Program, overseen by the five-member Airport Arts Commission, presents museum quality exhibitions in the Riley Terminal, provides periodic special programs in conjunction with the exhibitions and sponsors a county-wide Annual Student Art Contest/Exhibition. THE VI SMITH CONCOURSE GALLERY

Located on the Departure Level opposite Gates 1 through 4 in the North Concourse and 18 through 21 in the South Concourse. 

Current Exhibits:

Flight of Ideas

A large scale three-dimensional sculpture that is installed above the baggage carousels in Terminal C. The sculpture is composed of 21 aluminum birds with wing spans ranging in size from three feet to 14 feet suspended on an "S" shaped structure 100 feet long. Created from aluminum and polycarbonate Plexiglas, the wings of the birds will display enlarged portions of multi-colored aeronautical charts.

Location: Located above the baggage carousels in Terminal C.

Located on the Departure Level opposite Gates 1 through 4 in the North Concourse and 18 through 21 in the South Concourse.

Warriors, Tombs and Temples: China's Enduring Legacy

Featuring the Bowers Museum's ground-breaking exhibition drawn from China's most important archeological excavations and assembled in cooperation with seven leading Chinese institutions.

Location: Pedestrian walkway connecting Terminals B and C (pre-security)

Current Schedule: November 14, 2011 through March 2012

 

COMMUNITY FOCUS SPACE PROGRAM

Located on the Departure Level between the ticket counter areas and on the Arrival (lower) Level near baggage carousels 1 and 4. The Community Focus Space Program features exhibitions by Orange County artists and local community organizations.
