LANDSCAPE AND ARCHITECTURAL PHOTOGRAPHY ON DISPLAY AT JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT

SANTA ANA, Calif. - From March 16, 2017 - April 17, 2017, a traditional fine art photography and photographic art exhibition by visual artist Susan C. Fouts will be on display at John Wayne Airport (JWA) as part of JWA's Community Focus Space Program (CFS). These photographs can be viewed on the Departure (upper) Level near security screening areas in Terminals A, B and C, and on the Arrival (lower) Level adjacent to Baggage Carousels 1 and 4.

"Susan Fouts utilizes techniques that provide viewers with a passage to interesting and exceptional destinations throughout the United States," said Board Chairwoman Michelle Steel. "The public will have the opportunity to appreciate the unique dispositions of these beautiful images."

Fouts has traveled to 48 states, all but three of the National Parks in the Lower 48, and many national monuments and historic sites. This installation reflects Fouts' desire to capture and share the distinctiveness of the places she has experienced and explored over the past two decades.

Susan Fouts uses graphic design software as well as techniques such as toning, texture blending, and a specially modified digital infrared camera to develop new ways of capturing and creating images which communicate the characteristics of the places she photographs.

Fouts was born in New Jersey and raised in Florida. She completed her undergraduate studies at Florida State University and her graduate degree in Latin American Studies at the University of Texas. She has also earned an MBA in Finance and Accounting from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. A resident of Mission Viejo since 2012, Susan is an active member of the South County Photo Club and her photographs have been juried in the Orange County Fair and Lone Pine/Inyo County photo competitions. She is currently developing two projects: Wild Orange, an exploration of the five wilderness parks in Orange County, and Mojave Then and Now, a multi-media project combining oral histories, vintage photos and her own photography of the Mojave National Preserve.

Upcoming Community Focus Space Program artists include Richelle Gribble (April 17 - May 17) and Orlena Onstott (May 17 - June 15).
