JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT POSTS MAY 2016 STATISTICS

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in May 2016 as compared with May 2015. In May 2016, the Airport served 949,280 passengers, an increase of 13.0% when compared with the May 2015 passenger traffic count of 839,813. 

Commercial aircraft operations increased 19.8% and commuter aircraft operations decreased 65.2% when compared with May 2015 levels.

Total aircraft operations increased in May 2016 as compared with the same month in 2015. In May 2016, there were 24,710 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a 17.3% increase compared to 21,073 total aircraft operations in May 2015.

General aviation activity, which accounted for 66.9% of the total aircraft operations during May 2016, increased 17.9% when compared with May 2015.

The top three airlines in May 2016 based on passenger count were Southwest Airlines (447,417), American Airlines (141,793) and United Airlines (117,348).
