    John Wayne Airport's (JWA) 25th annual Student Art Contest is underway. All Orange County public and private school students in grades kindergarten through 12 are encouraged to submit artwork inspired by this year's theme: "OC125: Exploring Orange County's Story." Entries should be submitted to the Orange County Department of Education, any Orange County Public Library Branch or participating city libraries, no later than 4 p.m., Wednesday, November 5, 2014. more

    Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport decreased in August 2014 as compared to August 2013. In August 2014, the Airport served 834,765 passengers, a decrease of 1.9% when compared to the August 2013 passenger traffic count of 850,988. more

  • John Wayne Airport Changes Runway Designations (09/12/2014)

    Due to a gradual shift of the Earth's magnetic poles, both runways at John Wayne Airport (JWA) will receive new number designations on September 18, 2014. JWA's 5,700-foot air carrier commercial service runway will become 2L-20R and the 2,887-foot general aviation runway will become 2R-20L. The re-designation coincides with the publishing of aeronautical reference materials used by commercial and general aviation pilots, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) air traffic control. more

    AM 830 announced Rancho Cucamonga resident, Anthony Mandella, as the winner of John Wayne Airport's Fly Away to Oakland Sweepstakes. The prize, which took place on August 23 and August 24, included round-trip air transportation for two from John Wayne Airport (JWA) on Southwest Airlines, a two-night stay at the Best Western Plus Bayside Hotel, two tickets for the Halos vs. Oakland A's game, two tickets for the Chargers vs. 49er's game, a $150 Dollar car rental gift card and a $100 dining certificate. To make this sports weekend getaway possible, John Wayne Airport partnered with Southwest Airlines, Best Western Plus Bayside Hotel, AM 830 and Visit Oakland. more
