JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT POSTS OCTOBER STATISTICS
SANTA ANA, Calif. - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport decreased in October 2011 as compared to October 2010. In October 2011, the Airport served
726,513 passengers, a decrease of 0.8% when compared to the 732,106 passenger traffic count of October 2010.
Commercial aircraft operations decreased 2.8%, while Commuter aircraft operations decreased 10.5% when compared to the levels recorded in October 2010.
Total aircraft operations decreased in October 2011 as compared to the same month in October 2010. In October 2011, there were 19,394 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a decrease of 6.4% when compared to 20,725 total aircraft operations in October 2010.
General aviation activity, which accounted for 64% of the total aircraft operations during October 2011, decreased 8.3% when compared to October 2010.
John Wayne Airport (SNA) is owned by the County of Orange and is operated as a self supporting enterprise that receives no general fund tax revenue. The Airport serves approximately nine million passengers annually, reaches 20 nonstop destinations in the United States and Canada and is served by 10 commercial passenger airlines.
