STARBUCKS TO CONTINUE BREWING COFFEE
SANTA ANA, Calif. - The Orange County Board of Supervisors yesterday awarded a ten (10) year lease to HMSHost as the Primary Food and Beverage concessionaire at John Wayne Airport (JWA). HMSHost will spend $15.6 million to remodel its existing locations in Terminals A and B, and to construct new spaces in Terminal C – dramatically improving food and beverage options at JWA.
"The combination of restaurant concepts and menu items proposed by HMSHost promises to bring the flavor of Orange County to John Wayne Airport and, importantly, the variety our passengers have asked for," said Alan L. Murphy, Airport Director.
"HMSHost thanks the airport and is grateful to the Board of Supervisors for selecting our proposal that included signature local restaurants," said Anthony Alessi, Vice President, Business Development for HMSHost. "Along with our local partners, we look forward to continuing the great relationship we’ve had with John Wayne Airport and bringing these exciting Orange County icons to travelers."
HMSHost has been the Primary Food and Beverage operator at JWA since 1990. Under the new lease, the company will remodel and update its existing spaces and add new concessions throughout JWA, including:
Rotated Square (Located between Terminals A and B)
"Marketplace" (Terminal C)
Coffee (Terminals A, B and C)
Snack Bar / Grab and Go
- Zov's Bistro (Terminal A, pre-security)
- La Tapenade Mediterranean Café (Terminal B, pre-security)
- Ciao Gourmet Market (Terminal C, post-security newswall)
HMSHost's lease is a major component of the overall concessions plan at John Wayne Airport. In other business yesterday, the Board of Supervisors awarded leases to Paradies-OC, LLC and The Hudson Group for News and Gift concessions. Three Specialty Concessions were previously awarded by the Orange County Board of Supervisors: Caterina's, Subway and Vino Volo. On January 25, 2011, the Board of Supervisors will consider awarding leases for two Fast Food concessions to operate in Terminals A, B and C.
