McDONALD’S ADDS McCAFE AND CONTINUES SERVING PASSENGERS AT JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT

SANTA ANA, Calif. - The Orange County Board of Supervisors recently awarded a ten (10) year lease to McDonald's USA, LLC as the Fast Food concessionaire for Terminals A and B at John Wayne Airport (JWA). The lease is part of an overall plan to bring more variety and dining choices to passengers traveling through the Thomas F. Riley Terminal. The new stores will open in late 2011.

"McDonald's has a long-standing relationship with Orange County travelers," said Alan L. Murphy, Airport Director. "Not only is it important that our passengers have a variety of dining options, but that they have choices in restaurants they are familiar with and know they can count on."

McDonald's has operated in Terminals A and B at John Wayne Airport since 1990, and will continue to do so while enhancing their stores, gaining more space, and adding new menu items to serve thousands of passengers daily. The remodeled McDonald's locations will include the use of some 100% recycled materials in the floor tile as well as seating areas of the restaurant. In addition, new menu items will be available to Airport passengers from the McCafe menu starting later this year.

"We are extremely excited to continue serving the tried and true McDonald's menu alongside the fresh and new McCafe line of specialty coffees, frappes and real fruit smoothies," said Isabelle Villasenor, owner/operator of McDonald's at JWA. "By introducing McCafe to our John Wayne Airport restaurants, my daughters and I hope to provide more options to travelers on the go. I look forward to a long and successful partnership with John Wayne Airport and hope to create a travel experience that is one of convenience and comfort."

McDonald’s lease is an important component of the overall concessions plan at John Wayne Airport. The Board of Supervisors also awarded a lease to CKE Enterprises, Inc. to operate Carl’s Jr. / Green Burrito in Terminal C. In other business, the Board of Supervisors awarded leases to HMSHost as the Primary Food and Beverage concessionaire for Terminals A, B and C; and Paradies-OC, LLC and Hudson Group for News and Gift concessions. Three specialty concessions were previously awarded by the Orange County Board of Supervisors – Caterina’s, Subway and Vino Volo.
