SANTA ANA, Calif. - John Wayne Airport (JWA) is pleased to announce that the Orange County Board of Supervisors has approved a lease with Hudson Group to operate four news and gift stores in Terminal A and one store in the new Terminal C. The lease is part of an overall plan to bring more variety and choice of merchandise to passengers traveling through the Thomas F. Riley Terminal.
"Hudson Group has partnered with a variety of local tourist destinations to showcase some of the best of Orange County to the traveling public," said Airport Director Alan L. Murphy. "Hudson's exciting new store concepts, substantial experience and great customer service will be an invaluable asset to our customers."
Hudson will open a new news and gift store in Terminal C called CNN Newsstand Orange County, which also features “Tech On The Go” portable electronics.

Many top Orange County attractions that promote local culture, including Mission San Juan Capistrano, Bowers Museum, Richard M. Nixon Library and The Heritage Museum, will be included in the "Discover Orange County" section of the Terminal A Hudson News news and gift store.
Hudson News, a nationally recognized newsstand brand, will also feature "Tech on the Go" portable electronics and live CNN news programs for in-store viewing. As part of the lease agreement, Hudson will bring a new concession to Terminal A, which will be a dual-themed store offering Rip Curl and Sunglass Hut merchandise.
Hudson Group and its partners currently operate Hudson News in Terminal A, which includes a newswall, one pre-security and one post-security news and gift store and a specialty retail operation featuring Sunglass Hut and Life is good merchandise.

Hudson's lease is one component of the overall concessions plan at John Wayne Airport. In other business this week, the Board of Supervisors awarded leases to The Paradies Shops for a News and Gift concession and HMSHost for Primary Food and Beverage concessions. Three Specialty concessions were previously awarded by the Orange County Board of Supervisors: Caterina's, Subway and Vino Volo. On January 25, 2011, the Board of Supervisors will consider awarding leases for two Fast Food concessions to operate in Terminals A, B and C.
John Wayne Airport is currently undergoing a number of improvements to modernize the existing Thomas F. Riley Terminal including the addition of a new Terminal C. Learn more about the Airport Improvement Program at www.ocair.com/improvements.
