JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT POSTS JANUARY 2009 STATISTICS (Revised)**

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport decreased in January 2009 as compared to January 2008. In January 2009, the Airport served 592,370 passengers, a decrease of 16.2% when compared to the January 2008 passenger traffic count of 707,126.

Commercial Carrier flight operations decreased 11.9%, while Commuter Carrier (air taxi) operations decreased 3.0% when compared to the same levels recorded in January 2008.

Total aircraft operations decreased in January 2009 as compared to the same month in 2008. In January 2009, there were 21,787 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a decrease of 10.1% when compared to 24,245 total aircraft operations in January 2008.

General aviation activity, which accounted for 66.0% of the total aircraft operations during January 2009, decreased 9.7% when compared to January 2008.

John Wayne Airport (SNA) is a self-supporting enterprise, owned and operated by the County of Orange, serves nearly nine million passengers annually and is governed by the five-member Orange County Board of Supervisors.
