JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT REMINDS PASSENGERS TO PLAN AHEAD FOR HOLIDAY WEEKEND

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Labor Day weekend marks the traditional end of the summer travel season, and this year, marks the beginning of exciting changes coming to John Wayne Airport (JWA). JWA offers the following travel tips and construction information:

Plan Smart: Construction is underway at JWA. Plan to arrive at least two hours prior to your flight departure time in order to find parking and get through security screening.
Pack Smart: Follow the airline’s "1+1" policy (one carry-on and one small bag) and know the current security requirements by visiting the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Web site at www.tsa.gov/travelers/index.shtm or call TSA customer service at 866.289.9673.
Park Smart: If parking at JWA over the holiday weekend, the Airport offers remote parking at Main St. for $14/day, Terminal Parking Structures A1, A2, B1, and B2 for $20/day and the recently opened Parking Lot C for $17/day, located just south of the Terminal on Airport Way. Valet Parking is also available in front of the Terminal for $30/day. Both Main St. and Lot C offer free shuttle service to and from the Terminal. As part of the JWA Improvement Program, Parking Structure B1 will close permanently on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 in order to be deconstructed and to make way for construction of a new third Terminal C planned to open in 2011.

Vehicles parked in B1 after September 15 will be towed to Parking Structure B2, directly across from B1.

New Terminal C will feature six new bridged aircraft gates, more security checkpoints and additional customer amenities. In addition, a replacement parking structure will be built to accommodate 2,000+ parking spaces scheduled to open in 2011 in conjunction with the Terminal.
