Construction Update

John Wayne Airport (JWA) is currently in the midst of three construction projects, although most of the work is not visible to the traveling public.

Construction of Brookstone and XpressSpa

Two new concessions, Brookstone and XpressSpa, are being constructed in the Terminal B concourse, near Gate 10. When completed, these concessions will provide unique gifts and rejuvenating spa services to passengers. Construction is due to be complete before the holidays, just in time to help passengers find that perfect gift or get a quick massage to relieve a little holiday stress.

John Wayne Airport’s new Maintenance Building is also under construction, located at 3180 Airway Avenue in Costa Mesa, CA. The facility is a design-build project and the design-builder is Snyder Langston. The project, which began in February 2013, is being funded by Airport revenues and is scheduled to be complete in spring 2014.

A portion of the Airport’s perimeter road, running along the northwestern edge of the airfield, is being improved. Contractor Sully Miller is repaving and re-fencing the area to enhance safety and security of our airport property line. This project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2013.

The construction of these projects is not expected to impact passengers. To learn more about ongoing airport construction projects, visit www.ocair.com.
