TSA Pre✓™ Available to Even More Passengers at John Wayne Airport
The popular expedited screening program – Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Pre✓™ - has expanded to Terminal B at John Wayne Airport. In July 2013, TSA opened a second lane after seeing the success of the program in Terminal A. Benefits of TSA Pre✓™ include being able to leave shoes, light outerwear and belts on, keep laptops in cases and 3-1-1 compliant liquids in a carry-on bag during the security screening process. Hours of operation for TSA Pre✓™ in Terminal B are Monday through Saturday, 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., and 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on Sunday. TSA Pre✓™ hours in Terminal A are from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily.
To be eligible for TSA Pre✓™, travelers must opt-in through an airlines’ frequent flier program (Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and US Airways) or be enrolled in one of U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Global Entry, SENTRI or NEXUS Trusted Traveler Programs. Global Entry allows travelers returning to the U.S. from Mexico to clear Customs even quicker at John Wayne Airport. Learn more here. Travelers who sign up and are approved for Global Entry are automatically enrolled in the TSA Pre✓™ program.
Since being implemented in December 2012, about 100,000 passengers have used TSA Pre✓™ at JWA. Nationwide, millions of travelers have taken advantage of the program, which is currently being expanded to 100 airports around the country. Read more about TSA Pre✓™ here.
