OC 125: Exploring Orange County's Story
Visitors and residents can explore Orange County's rich 125-year history through OC 125: Exploring Orange County's Story, an exhibition of sites and experiences now on display at John Wayne Airport through February 2015. Guest curated by Bonnie Brittain Hall, an independent consultant and writer who specializes in cultural and heritage tourism, the exhibition can be found in the pre-security pedestrian walkway between Riley Terminals B and C.
Organized by era, the OC 125 exhibit highlights more than 35 historical sites throughout Orange County that are accessible to residents and visitors. Elements of the exhibition include: glimpses of early OC, the history of wealth from the land, how the coastal playground contributed to the arts and aspects of OC’s military history and culture. A companion guide, available at the Riley Terminal and on John Wayne Airport's website, highlights portions of the exhibition.
25th Annual John Wayne Airport Student Art Contest
The Airport will continue the celebration of the County’s quasquicentennial by keeping the “OC 125: Exploring Orange County’s Story” theme for its annual Student Art Contest. Artworks that best depict this year's contest theme are selected for exhibition and prizes. Winners and honorable mentions from grades kindergarten through 12 will be exhibited from December 9, 2014 through March 6, 2015, on the wall behind Baggage Carousels 1 and 4 on the Arrival (lower) Level of Riley Terminals A and B.
