John Wayne Airport Arts Program Update - OC 125 Exhibit
Up next in the ORANGE COUNTY: Destination Art & Culture exhibition program, John Wayne Airport (JWA) presents 125 Years of Orange County Arts & Culture, an exhibit celebrating the widely varied history of the arts and culture that helped frame today’s Orange County. The exhibit will run from August 8, 2014, through February 25, 2015, and will be presented in wall-mounted display cases located along the pedestrian bridge connecting Terminal B and Terminal C.
Elements of the exhibition include: glimpses of early OC, the history of wealth from the land, how the coastal playground contributed to the arts, aspects of OC’s military history and culture and innovation of the theme park.
The exhibition’s guest-curator is Bonnie Hall. Ms. Hall has a deep knowledge of and connection to the art and culture of Orange County. She previously served as Executive Director of Arts/OC, the umbrella arts organization for Orange County and now serves as the Vice President of Development for the Philharmonic Society of Orange County.
This exhibition space is a perfect place to celebrate 125 years of Orange County Arts & Culture and to highlight many of our community’s local arts and culture venues. These cases are visible to anyone traveling through JWA – ticketed passengers and visitors alike. Enjoy!
