Airport Police Honored at Annual Medal of Valor Presentation

Orange County Sheriff's Department Annual Medal of Valor Presentation  In April, five members of the John Wayne Airport Police Services division were honored by the Orange County Sheriff's Department at the Twenty-Sixth Annual Medal of Valor presentation.

The Medal of Valor presentation recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of the men and women of the Sheriff’s Department, both sworn and professional employees, who have demonstrated exceptional valor, courage, merit and lifesaving. Forty-four members of the Department were honored at the 2014 Medal of Valor event.Sheriff's Special Officer Kyle Robertson

Sheriff's Special Officer Kyle Robertson was awarded the Medal of Courage for arresting a suspect after being struck by a vehicle inside Parking Structure A2 while on bike patrol duty. The Medal of Courage is awarded for a display of bravery beyond the demands of normal law enforcement service.

Sheriff's Special Officers Alex Bacon, Sean Fowler, Frank Kuskie and David Rapponotti

Sheriff's Special Officers Alex Bacon, Sean Fowler, Frank Kuskie and David Rapponotti were awarded the Medal for Lifesaving for their swift action in saving the life of a 57-year old traveler who had suffered a cardiac arrest in the Thomas F. Riley Terminal. The Medal for Lifesaving is awarded for extraordinary actions in lifesaving.

JWA congratulates Sheriff's Special Officers Bacon, Fowler, Kuskie, Rapponotti and Robertson for their valiant actions and commitment to making JWA a safe and secure world-class aviation gateway.
