SANTA ANA, Calif. –
John Wayne Airport (JWA) is seeking entries for its17th Annual Student Art Contest. Themed “Airfield,” this year’s Contest is open to Kindergarten through 12th-grade students from Orange County public and private schools. All entries must be submitted no later than 4:00 p.m. on November 15, 2006. For more information, log on to www.ocair.com or click here for the official contest rules and entry form.
Winning JWA entries are submitted to the State, National, and International levels of the International Aviation Art Contest. Last year, Brett Anderson – an 11th-grader from Esperanza High School in Anaheim – won 1st place at JWA for his grade level, 3rd place at the State level, 2nd place at the National level and 2nd place in the International competition in his age division – see Brett’s winning artwork by clicking

First, second and third place winners selected from two age groups – Kindergarten through 6th grade and 7th through 12th grade. Contest winners could receive airline tickets from Aloha, Continental or Frontier Airlines. Additional awards have been provided by Angels Baseball, Bowers Museum, Discovery Science Center, the Ducks of Anaheim, The Irvine Museum, McDonalds, Newport Harbor Nautical Museum and the Santa Ana Zoo. This year’s winning entries from each grade level will be on display from December 5, 2006 through January 5, 2007 on the lower level of the JWA Terminal near baggage carousels one and four. Winners will be announced and awarded on Sunday, December 10 near baggage carousel one.
