JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT PREPARES FOR A BUSY SPRING TRAVEL SEASON

Santa Ana, Calif. – The first day of spring brings many new sights and sounds, and at John Wayne Airport (JWA) it brings a rush of Spring Break travelers. Passenger travel has continued to increase over the last year and JWA anticipates this spring travel season will be busier than ever.

“In an effort to make holiday travel as comfortable and stress free as possible, we offer the following travel tips to help ensure a smooth traveling experience,” noted Alan Murphy, Airport Director.

JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT TRAVEL TIPS

Plan Smart: If your flight is scheduled to depart between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., please allow a minimum of two (2) hours for parking, check-in and security screening. That includes Saturday and Sunday.

Pack Smart: Be prepared for Transportation Security Administration (TSA) staff to enforce the “1+1” rule. That means you are allowed one carry-on bag and one personal item – such as a purse, briefcase, laptop computer or diaper bag – through the security screening and onto the aircraft. Remember – no prohibited items in your carry-on luggage. “Divesting tables” for passengers to place personal items (keys, wallets, cell phones) in a plastic bag to facilitate security screening are available at the security checkpoints.

Park Smart: JWA offers a variety of parking options. Four terminal parking structures at the rate of $17 per day, an off-site parking lot for $12 per day and convenient valet parking for $23 per day are available.
