ALASKA AIRLINES TO PROVIDE DIRECT FLIGHTS BETWEEN JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT AND VANCOUVER, B.C.

SANTA ANA, CA – John Wayne Airport is pleased to announce today that Alaska Airlines will begin daily nonstop service to Vancouver, B.C. from Orange County, California. The new daily flight is part of Alaska Airlines’ existing capacity allocation and is scheduled to begin April 28, 2002. This Alaska flight is the first international service by a commercial carrier serving John Wayne Airport.

"We are pleased that through Alaska Airlines, we are able to offer Vancouver as an international destination to our passengers," said Airport Director Alan Murphy. "This will allow travelers the convenience of using John Wayne Airport to fly into Canada, whether for business or pleasure."

Alaska Airlines has provided service at John Wayne Airport since 1987 and is one of ten commercial carriers serving John Wayne Airport.
