STATUS OF OPERATIONS FOR AIR CARRIERS AT JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT

Santa Ana, CA – As airlines slowly gear up on operations the process remains slow, but with each day air carriers increase their number of flights. At John Wayne Airport, today’s combined air carrier activity indicates an 80% level of operations. The airlines are working towards resuming normal operations by the end of this week.

"John Wayne Airport and the air carriers are working closely together to bring operations back up to normal with as much expediency as possible," said Airport Director Alan L. Murphy.

Although flights are increasing with each day, it is important that passengers continue to call their airline regarding confirmation on scheduled flights prior to coming to the airport.

Due to heightened security measures, passengers must adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Arrive at least two hours prior to flight departure to allow for parking, longer lines at check-in and at the security checkpoints.
  • Vehicles parking in the terminal lots will be inspected;
  • Curbside check-in will not be permitted; handicapped passengers and drop off of passengers is permitted.
  • Only ticketed passengers will be permitted through the security checkpoints;
  • All knives of any kind or cutting objects will not be permitted through the security checkpoints;
  • Be prepared to show photo identification; and
  • Luggage should not be left unattended.
