JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT POSTS AUGUST 2009 STATISTICS **REVISED**

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in August 2009 as compared to August 2008. In August 2009, the Airport served 833,962 passengers, an increase of 0.04% when compared to the August 2008 passenger traffic count of 833,655.

Commercial Carrier flight operations increased 3.6%, while Commuter Carrier (air taxi) operations increased 19.6% when compared to the same levels recorded in August 2008.

Total aircraft operations increased in August 2009 as compared to the same month in 2008. In August 2009, there were 19,297 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), an increase of 1.7% when compared to 18,982 total aircraft operations in August 2008.

General aviation activity, which accounted for 56% of the total aircraft operations during August 2009, decreased 1.1% when compared to August 2008.

John Wayne Airport (SNA) is a self-supporting enterprise, owned and operated by the County of Orange, serves nearly nine million passengers annually and is governed by the five-member Orange County Board of Supervisors.
