JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT POSTS JUNE 2009 STATISTICS

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport decreased in June 2009 as compared to June 2008. In June 2009, the Airport served 785,878 passengers, a decrease of 1.5% when compared to the June 2008 passenger traffic count of 797,943.

Commercial Carrier flight operations increased 2.8%, while Commuter Carrier (air taxi) operations increased 27.3% when compared to the same levels recorded in June 2008.

Total aircraft operations decreased in June 2009 as compared to the same month in 2008. In June 2009, there were 19,201 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a decrease of 29.3% when compared to 27,149 total aircraft operations in June 2008.

General aviation activity, which accounted for 56.6% of the total aircraft operations during June 2009, showed a decrease of 43.5% when compared to June 2008

John Wayne Airport (SNA) is a self-supporting enterprise, owned and operated by the County of Orange, serves nearly nine million passengers annually and is governed by the five-member Orange County Board of Supervisors.
