JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT POSTS MAY 2007 STATISTICS

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in May 2007 as compared to May 2006. In May 2007, the Airport served 875,576 passengers, an increase of 6.9% when compared to the May 2006 passenger traffic count of 818,789.

Commercial Carrier flight operations increased 4.4%, while Commuter Carrier (air taxi) operations decreased 9.6% when compared to the same levels recorded in May 2006.

Total aircraft operations decreased in May 2007 as compared to the same month in 2006. In May 2007, there were 29,733 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a decrease of 2.8% when compared to 30,575 total aircraft operations in May 2006.

General aviation activity, which accounted for 69% of the total aircraft operations during May 2007, decreased 4.8% when compared to May 2006.
