JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT POSTS JANUARY 2007 STATISTICS

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in January 2007 as compared to January 2006. In January 2007, the Airport served 751,423 passengers, an increase of 7.7% when compared to the January 2006 passenger traffic count of 697,403.

Commercial Carrier flight operations increased 8.5%, while Commuter Carrier (air taxi) operations decreased 24.6% when compared to the same levels recorded in January 2006.

Total aircraft operations decreased in January 2007 as compared to the same month in 2006. In January 2007, there were 27,151 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a decrease of 5.0% when compared to 28,577 total aircraft operations in January 2006.

General aviation activity, which accounted for 67.7% of the total aircraft operations during January 2007, decreased 8.4% when compared to January 2006.
