SANTA ANA, Calif. -
Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in December 2006 as compared to December 2005. In December 2006, the Airport served 811,394 passengers, an increase of 5.6% when compared to the December 2005 passenger traffic count of 768,707.
Commercial Carrier flight operations increased 6.3%, while Commuter Carrier (air taxi) operations decreased 25.1% when compared to the same levels recorded in December 2005.
Total aircraft operations decreased in December 2006 as compared to the same month in 2005. In December 2006, there were 25,732 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a decrease of 0.2% when compared to December 2005 total aircraft operations of 25,774.
General aviation activity, which accounted for 66% of the total aircraft operations during December 2006, decreased 0.9% when compared to December 2005.
