Airline passenger traffic
at John Wayne Airport decreased
in as August 2006 compared
to August 2005. In August
2006, the Airport served
882,910 passengers, a decrease
of 1.9% when compared to
the August 2005 passenger
traffic count of 899,923.
Commercial
Carrier flight operations
increased 2.6%, while
Commuter Carrier (air taxi)
operations increased 2.1%
when compared to the same
levels recorded in August
2005.
Total
aircraft operations increased
in August 2006 as compared
to the same month in 2005.
In August 2006, there were
32,695 total aircraft operations
(take-offs and landings),
an increase of 0.2% when
compared to 32,634 total
aircraft operations in August
2005.
General
aviation activity, which
accounted for 72% of the
total aircraft operations
during August 2006, showed
a decrease of 0.7% when
compared to August 2005.
John
Wayne Airport (SNA) is
a self-supporting enterprise,
owned and operated by the
County of Orange, and is
the only commercial service
airport in Orange County,
California. The Airport
served 9.6 passengers in
2005 and is governed by the
five-member Orange County
Board of Supervisors.
