Ana, Calif. - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in February 2006 as compared to February 2005. In February 2006, the Airport served 688,848 passengers, an increase of 0.1% when compared to the February 2005 passenger traffic count of 688,066.
Commercial Carrier flight operations showed a decrease of 2.8%, while Commuter Carrier (air taxi) operations showed an increase of 15.1% when compared to the same levels recorded in February 2005.
Total aircraft operations increased in February 2006 as compared to the same month in 2005. In February 2006, there were 25,879 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), an increase of 1.6% when compared to 25,464 total aircraft operations in February 2005.

John Wayne Airport (SNA) is a self-supporting enterprise, owned and operated by the County of Orange, and is the only commercial service airport in Orange County, California. It is located approximately 35 miles south of Los Angeles, between the cities of Costa Mesa, Irvine, Newport Beach and Santa Ana. The service area includes three million people within the 34 cities and unincorporated areas of Orange County. The Airport serves more than nine million passengers annually and is governed by the five-member Orange County Board of Supervisors.
