JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT PASSENGER LEVELS SHOW MODERATE GROWTH IN FEBRUARY
Passenger Levels Up 2.1%

Santa Ana, CA – John Wayne Airport (JWA) passenger levels remained strong in February 2005 as 688,066 travelers came through the Thomas F. Riley Terminal. The passenger count represents a 2.1% increase over the same period in 2004. Commercial flight operations, as well as air taxi services both posted decreased operations of 2.2% and 21.6% respectively. The decrease in air taxi operations is directly attributable to the cancellation of one direct flight to Salt Lake City.

“Passenger levels have remained strong in 2005,” noted Alan L. Murphy, Airport Director. “The continued growth in passenger levels bodes well for a busy spring and summer travel season."

John Wayne Airport is a self supporting enterprise, owned and operated by the County of Orange. The Airport served over 9.2 million passengers in the last calendar year.
