OCTOBER STATISTICS

(Santa Ana, CA) - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in October 2003 as compared to October 2002. In October 2003, the passenger traffic count was 760,130, an increase of 14.0% when compared to the October 2002 passenger traffic count of 666,958.

Total aircraft operations decreased in October 2003 as compared to the same month in 2002. In October 2003, the total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings) were 28,368, a decrease of 8.0% when compared to the October 2002 total aircraft operations count of 30,825.

General aviation activity, which accounted for 69% of the total aircraft operations during October 2003, showed a decrease of 13.3% when compared to October 2002.

In addition, Commercial Carrier flight operations showed an increase of 1.2%, while Commuter Carrier (air taxi) operations showed an increase of 40.7% when compared to the same levels recorded in October 2002.
