SEPTEMBER STATISTICS

(Santa Ana, CA) - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in September 2003 as compared to September 2002. In September 2003, the passenger traffic count was 693,273, an increase of 14.3% when compared to the September 2002 passenger traffic count of 606,632.

In addition, Commercial Carrier flight operations showed an increase of 1%, while Commuter Carrier (air taxi) operations showed an increase of 49.8% when compared to the same levels recorded in September 2002.

Total aircraft operations decreased in September 2003 as compared to the same month in 2002. In September 2003, the total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings) were 28,872, a decrease of 7.5% when compared to the September 2002 total aircraft operations count of 31,225.

General aviation activity, which accounted for 71% of the total aircraft operations during September 2003, showed a decrease of 12.6% when compared to September 2002.

John Wayne Airport is a self-supporting enterprise, owned and operated by the County of Orange.
