WAYNE AIRPORT POSTS APRIL STATISTICS
(Santa Ana, CA) - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in April 2003 as compared to
April 2002. In April 2003, the passenger traffic count was 660,392, an increase
of 0.4% when compared to the April 2002 passenger traffic count of 657,598.
In addition, Commercial Carrier flight operations showed a decrease of – 6.5%,
while Commuter Carrier (air taxi) operations showed an increase of 150.6% when
compared to the same levels recorded in April 2002.
Total aircraft operations decreased in April 2003 as compared to the same month in
2002. In April 2003, the total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings) were
28,822, a decrease of –1.9% when compared to the April 2002 total aircraft
operations count of 29,386.
General aviation activity, which accounted for 73% of the total aircraft operations
during April 2003, showed a decrease of – 4.0% when compared to April 2002.
John Wayne Airport is a self-supporting enterprise, owned and operated
by the County of Orange.
