JOHN
WAYNE AIRPORT POSTS FEBRUARY STATISTICS

(Santa
Ana, CA) - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in
February 2003 as compared to February 2002. In February 2003, the passenger
traffic count was 577,722, an increase of 9.4% when compared to the February
2002 passenger traffic count of 527,943.
In
addition, Commercial Carrier flight operations showed an increase of 0.4%, while
Commuter Carrier (air taxi) operations showed an increase of 101.1% when
compared to the same levels recorded in February 2002.
Total
aircraft operations decreased in February 2003 as compared to the same month in
2002. In February 2003, the total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings)
were 25,890, a decrease of 7.3% when compared to the February 2002 total
aircraft operations count of 27,922.
General
aviation activity, which accounted for 72% of the total aircraft operations
during February 2003, showed a decrease of 11.9% when compared to February 2002.
John
Wayne Airport is a self-supporting enterprise, owned and operated by the County
of Orange.
