(Santa Ana, CA) - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in November 2002 as compared to November 2001. In November 2002, the passenger traffic count was 620,444, an increase of 6.2% when compared to the November 2001 passenger traffic count of 584,293.

In addition, Commercial Carrier flight operations showed an increase of 1.2%, while Commuter Carrier (air taxi) operations showed an increase of 98.0% when compared to the same levels recorded in November 2001.

Total aircraft operations decreased in November 2002 as compared to the same month in 2001. In November 2002, the total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings) were 28,526, a decrease of 1.0% when compared to the November 2001 total aircraft operations count of 28,811.

General aviation activity, which accounted for 73% of the total aircraft operations during November 2002, showed a decrease of 3.9% when compared to November 2001.
