| JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT POSTS JUNE STATISTICS |

Ana, CA) - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in
June 2002 as compared to June 2001. In June 2002, the passenger traffic count
was 715,613, an increase of 4.3% when compared to the June 2001 passenger
traffic count of 685,949.
In addition, Commercial Carrier flight operations showed a decrease of 2.1%, while Commuter Carrier (air taxi) operations showed a decrease of 44.7% when compared to the same levels recorded in June 2001. Total aircraft operations decreased in June 2002 as compared to the same month in 2001. In June 2002, the total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings) were 31,839, a decrease of 10.5% when compared to the June 2001 total aircraft operations count of 35,572. General aviation activity, which accounted for 76% of the total aircraft operations during June 2002, showed a decrease of 11.6% when compared to June 2001. John Wayne Airport is a self-supporting enterprise, owned and operated by the County of Orange. |
