Ana, CA) - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport decreased in
January 2002 as compared to January 2001. In January 2002, the passenger traffic
count was 552,496 a decrease of 2.8% when compared to the January 2001 passenger
traffic count of 568,514.
In addition, Commercial Carrier flight operations showed a decrease of 3.5%, while Commuter Carrier (air taxi) operations showed a decrease of 44.1% when compared to the same levels recorded in January 2001. Total aircraft operations decreased in January 2002 as compared to the same month in 2001. In January 2002, the total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings) were 29,597, a decrease of 1.3% when compared to the January 2001 total aircraft operations count of 29,976. General aviation activity, which accounted for 75% of the total aircraft operations during January 2002, showed an increase of 1.3% when compared to January 2001. John Wayne Airport is a self-supporting enterprise, owned and operated by the County of Orange. |
