Airport Statistics: March 1999 April 28, 1999 Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport decreased in March 1999 as compared to March 1998. In March 1999 the passenger traffic count was 620,771, a decrease of 3% when compared to the January 1998 passenger traffic count of 640,102. Commercial Carrier flight operations showed an increase of 0.5%, while Commuter Carrier (air taxi) operations showed a decrease of 50.8% when compared to the same levels recorded in March 1998. Total aircraft operations decreased in March 1999 as compared to the same month in 1998. In March 1999, the total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings) were 36,172, a decrease of 3.4% when compared to the March 1998 total aircraft operations count of 37,461. General aviation activity, which accounted for 80% of the total aircraft operations during March 1999, showed a decrease of 2.5% when compared to March 1998. # # # |
