Lower Roadway Fire Loop Valve Replacement

Project Description:

The project provides for the replacement of 8-inch and 10-inch fire water system valves along the lower roadway of the airport; replacement of an 8-inch fire water lateral to Terminal A; associated concrete and roadway repairs, and related work. The work shall be performed in multiple nightly phases according to the contract document phasing plans and the system shutdowns closely coordinated with JW A and the Orange County Fire Authority. The work shall be flushed and inspected as required by JWA and the Fire Authority.

Project Name:

Taxiway "B" Rehabilitation

Project Description:

Taxiway "B" is a 75' wide, full length, parallel taxiway to Runway 2L-20R. The taxiway serves commercial jets as well as general aviation aircraft. The project will remediate approximately 4,300 linear feet of Taxiway "B" pavement. Taxiway edge lighting and signage along Taxiway "B" shall also be adjusted in conformance with FAA criteria. Additionally, the centerline striping at the Taxiway "B"/ Taxiway "L" intersection will be realigned in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Standards. Work shall include removal of existing pavement markings and installation of new pavement markings for the full length of Taxiway "B" up to and including the aircraft holding position markings on intersecting taxiways. Work will vary between full depth removal of sections of the pavement section to a milling and overlay of the existing pavement system. Drainage and grading work will be included.

Pavement Maintenance and Repair

Project Description:

The project provides for the maintenance and repair of asphalt and concrete pavement on the airfield, and in vehicular traffic areas at JWA. The maintenance and repair includes pavement replacement, overlays, spall repair, slurry seal, seal coats, rubber removal, joint seal, repair of damaged underground utilities, adding bollards for safety, drainage and erosion control system repairs, and emergency repairs. The project also includes repair and reconstruction of underground utility structures. This would be "typical work" as determined by Section 20128.5.

JWA's goal is to develop a CAP that is consistent with the requirements of the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 (AB 32) and the goals of California Executive Order S-3-05. The CAP will identify and evaluate greenhouse gas reduction (GHG) measures to support reducing emissions associated with JWA development and redevelopment programs as well as existing operations.

Paularino Gate Improvements Project

Project Description:

The project is located near the intersection of Paularino and Airway Avenues in Costa Mesa and will involve the replacement of failed pavement on Paularino Avenue; the replacement of two airfield gates with crash-resistant gates; the replacement of a guard booth and installation of an additional guard booth and access control; installation of crash-resistant fencing; installation of additional lighting at the gates; pavement replacement and enlargement of a parking lot; and construction of a covered entryway to the JWA administration building.
