Architect-Engineer Services for Geographic Information System (GIS) Development

Project Description:

John Wayne Airport (JWA) intends to contract with an Architect-Engineer (A-E) firm that specializes in Geographic Information System (GIS) development at airports. The A-E firm will be responsible for preparing GIS standards, guidelines, and implementation plans as well as collecting, evaluating, converting, and/or mapping data to manage land, facilities, assets, and utilities.

Upgrade of the Emergency Crash Phone System

Project Description:

JWA requires the services of a qualified Contractor to upgrade the ECPS to the Forum Communications' Alert III CrashNet system, survey and identify the existing communications pathways while clearly and permanently marking the source and destination. The Contractor will also pull new cable to replace any damaged existing cables or to update any cable on conforming to today's standards.

Maintenance and repair of asphalt and concrete pavement on the airfield, and in vehicular traffic areas at JWA. The maintenance and repair includes pavement replacement, overlays, spall repair, slurry seal, seal coats, rubber removal, joint seal, repair of damaged underground utilities, adding bollards for safety, drainage and erosion control system repairs, and emergency repairs. The project also includes repair and reconstruction of underground utility structures.

John Wayne Airport (JWA) is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from Architect-Engineers (A-Es) experienced in cogeneration power plant performance analysis and the applications for battery energy storage technology to cogenerations power plants. 

The A-E services shall include analysis and performance recommendations for the following: cogeneration power plant and plant controls; power distribution; load shedding; black start capability; and cost analysis for planning plant enhancements.

Station 18 Improvements and Emergency Operations Center Project

The objective of the Station 18 Improvements and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) project is multifold. The Station 18 portion of the project will include the construction of a redundant sheriff dispatch center in JWA Building 366 that will be utilized while retrofits to the existing sheriff dispatch center located in Terminal A are constructed. Construction will include the relocation of numerous information technology systems located at the airport.

Project Name:

Taxiway Bravo Rehabilitation

Project Description:

Taxiway Bravo is a 75’ wide, full-length, parallel taxiway to Runway 2L/20R. The taxiway serves commercial jets as well as general aviation. The project will rehabilitate Taxiway Bravo from the south end at Taxiway Delta approximately 4,300’ north to a previously completed rehabilitation project. The rehabilitation should extend the service life of the taxiway an additional 20 years. The project will also phase construction to minimize impacts to both commercial and general aviation aircraft operations. Additionally, the project will realign the centerline striping at the Taxiway Bravo/Taxiway Lima intersection according to current FAA standards.

Status:

A-E Agreement awarded to Kimley-Horn.

Common Use Passenger Processing System (CUPPS) Relocation Project

The Common Use Passenger Processing System Relocation Project will provide point of sale machine infrastructure and anchoring as well as demolition of existing infrastructure for current point of sale machines. The project will also address any necessary repairs to floor finishes affected by the demolition.
