Project Description:

This project will provide for the replacement of a portion of sidewalk area at Terminal C on the Arrivals Level with a driveway for taxis and incidental bollards and bench relocations. Scope of work will also include the relocation, replacement and installation of bollards at Terminals A, B and C along with Parking Structure C.
The project must be performed within an active airport environment without disruption to any of the day-to-day operations of the Airport.

Paularino Gate Improvements Project

The project is located near the intersection of Paularino and Airway Avenues in Costa Mesa and will involve the replacement of failed pavement on Paularino Avenue; the replacement of two airfield gates with crash-resistant gates; the replacement of a guard booth and installation of an additional guard booth and access control; installation of crash-resistant fencing; installation of additional lighting at the gates; pavement replacement and enlargement of a parking lot; and construction of a covered entryway to the JWA administration building.

Project Name:

Taxiway Bravo Rehabilitation

Project Description:

Taxiway Bravo is a 75’ wide, full-length, parallel taxiway to Runway 2L/20R. The taxiway serves commercial jets as well as general aviation. The project will rehabilitate Taxiway Bravo from the south end at Taxiway Delta approximately 4,300’ north to a previously completed rehabilitation project. The rehabilitation should extend the service life of the taxiway an additional 20 years. The project will also phase construction to minimize impacts to both commercial and general aviation aircraft operations. Additionally, the project will realign the centerline striping at the Taxiway Bravo/Taxiway Lima intersection according to current FAA standards.

Status:

A-E Agreement awarded to Kimley-Horn.

Project Name:

Lower Roadway Fire Loop Valve Replacement

Project Description:

The PROJECT provides for the replacement of 8 inch and 10 inch fire water system valves along the lower roadway of the airport in front of Terminals A and B; replacement of an 8 inch fire water lateral to Terminal A; associated concrete and roadway repairs, and related work. The work shall be performed in multiple nightly phases according to the contract document phasing plans and the system shutdowns closely coordinated with JWA and the Orange County Fire Authority. The work shall be flushed and inspected as required by JWA and the Orange County Fire Authority.
