John Wayne Airport anticipates issuing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) / Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) for the following Construction and A&E projects. Please note that this may not be a complete list of upcoming projects, and all dates are estimates and subject to change at any time.

Parking Structure C Phase II

Project Description:

JWA plans to build a four-level extension of Parking Structure C, comprising of approximately 1,500 parking spaces. This extension will carry over the design elements of Parking Structure C, including the BRB structural system, and utilizes common footings at the south end of the existing parking structure.

Status:

Evaluation of Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for providing Architect-Engineer (A-E) services and Project Management/Construction Management (PM/CM) services are in progress.

Project Name:

Terminal Improvements

Project Description:

The Terminal Improvements project brings various improvements to the Thomas F. Riley Terminal at John Wayne Airport (JWA). These improvements include, but are not limited to: architectural improvements; electrical infrastructure; heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) and mechanical systems; lighting systems; American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance; Information Technology (IT) systems; security and closed circuit television (CCTV) systems; general aesthetics improvements; and fire sprinkler and alarm systems.

Status:

Evaluation of Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for providing Architect-Engineer (A-E) services in progress. IDS Group, Inc. selected as the primary A-E firm and Atkins North America, Inc. as the alternate firm.

Project Name:

CAMPUS DR/BRISTOL ST RIGHT TURN LANE PROJECT

Project Description:

The project consists, in general, of widening southbound Campus Drive to provide an additional 600 foot long, third right turn lane onto northbound Bristol Street. The work includes removal of existing facilities and vegetation, demolition of an existing maintenance building, site clearing, grading, road pavement, curb return, retaining wall, traffic signal modification, temporary security fence, perimeter security fence, signing, striping and pavement marking, curb and gutter, landscaping, tree removal, and adjusting and relocating utilities and amenities in and around the project site.

Status:

Evaluation of Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for providing Architect-Engineer (A-E) services in progress. Stantec selected as the primary A-E firm and APA Engineering as the alternate firm.

TERMINAL A&B CHECKED BAGGAGE SCREENING PROJECT

Project Description:

The project provides for improvement to the Terminals A&B baggage handling systems. The improvements include ticket counter, curbside, makeup and other baggage conveyor modifications as well as improvements to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Checked Baggage Inspection Systems (CBIS).

Status:

Design Awarded February 2013.

Construction Bid Advertisement Targeted November 2013.
